The Greatest Story Continues

When I read Pray, Hope, and Don't Worry: True Stories of Padre Pio Book I, the result was my return to the Catholic Church and my resignation from a California-based cult that has snared so many good souls who only wanted to find God but who found evil instead. The goodness and the true presence of God embodied by Padre Pio was so clearly portrayed by the stories in Book I that I thought no other book could bring me closer to Padre Pio and make me feel so clearly and deeply the Love of God. But Pray, Hope, and Don't Worry: True Stories of Padre Pio Book II has done just that. Whenever I find my faith in prayer to be flagging, my hope fading and my worry growing so great that I think it cannot be endured one more second, I just reread Book II and my heart is at one with Padre Pio again, and I no longer fear the evil of the world. Thank you, Diane and Ron, for this latest effort. I cannot wait for Book III!

A deeper look at the life of a great Saint.

I am a big fan of Padre Pio - he teaches me so much about the character of Jesus. Having read several books on him, including the first book by Diane Allen, I wasn't sure how much new info would be available. Alas, this doesn't disappoint. It is a substantial work at 400+ pages. It isn't dry but could best be read one chapter at a time in order to absorb the rich facts & details about St. Pio and the life he lived. Clearly Ms. Allen put a lot of time into this book and it is well worth a read.

I am happy I've bought and read this book!

I had read a much of Padre Pio already. He truly was a saint living in my lifetime. I am disappointed that whilst he was alive, I never visited him in San Giovanni Rotondo.
On the other hand, I feel exceptionally fortunate in that I have met a recipient of Padre Pio's prayers, & miracles here in Los Angeles. His story, is recalled wonderfully in this book by Diane Allen. His experience of the miracles he received strengthened my faith in God too. He attends Mass at our local Capuchin parish in greater LA.
I found this book to be an enjoyable and easy read, although in excess of 440 pages. I read this in about a week. All in all a fascinating collection of very readable stories that tell a great deal of St Pio's life. It has been a positive experience for me to read this book, and I am very happy, that I found it!
